			Private Residence No matter how you approach it, this remodeled 1960s Virginia house is a winner. The waterfront approach at the rear particularly appealed to the judges. "The house grew down to the lakeside in a very attractive way," they said, praising the terraces, stairs and piers. Use of a variety of woods, some brightly colored, lightens the approach, at the same time visually down scaling the long, wide staircase.
